In early April, Battlestar Galactica will begin it’s first half of the final season ever of the show. I am both elated to see what happens and frightened by the idea that such a terrific program will be done. I bought the season 3 dvds and am now anxiously awaiting the answers to the many intriguing questions left from the finale. Whatever happens next I know that it will be fantastic. Honestly, this is the only show on tv that I have absolute faith in. April cannot get here fast enough.

I saw  the bootleg trailer on line for the new X-Files movie. It looks great, I only hope that my favorite character ever, Mulder, will be done justice on screen. After the disaster that was seasons 8 & 9, being a bit hesitant to have absolute faith in 1013 is a given for me. But I do have faith that David Duchovny knows Mulder and would not have done this movie if he thought Mulder was not getting his due.  Gonna be a great summer for movies. :)

I never plan on having children, the only child I will ever have is my dog. So why is it that in 2008 women cannot elect to have a hysterectomy? You have to have had kids or have serious medical problems in order to be eligible for this surgery. That  bothers me so very much because I want to be able to tell the doctor what I want, not what I have to abide by. Now I know that this surgery isn’t easy, none are but if we can cut up our bodies to look like the latest celebrity than why can’t women choose what to do with their own bodies. With the right-wing leaders we have in Washington right now it is amazing we still have the right to abortion, in some states I should say, not to even mention women’s rights moving forward any.

I am not a feminist, heck, I only have a couple of female friends because I do not get along with women most of the time. But I would like to choose to take away my “female” times of the month because they are in effect there for procreating and I will never give birth, so why not be able to choose to remove the issue all together? It is annoying and baffling, maybe in 50 years or so women will be able to decide what they want.

Mortgage rates in this country today are like everything else, skyrocketing. It is hard to find the best deal for your all your home buying and refinancing needs. Whether you are buying a home for the first time, refinancing, or even need to do some remodeling, having a loan that you can afford to live with is increasingly hard to find. Louisiana Mortgage is definitely the answer. This is a comprehensive site dedicated to offering you many, many options for all your home loan needs. The website is very user-friendly with plenty of ideas and a detailed directory to help you decide the best offer for you in your area. There is simply not a better site to help aid you in making any decision regarding your home finances.

So the high def race is over with Blu-Ray the clear winner. As soon as Warner Bros announced that they would no longer be producing HD-DVD disc things just seemed to fall into place rather fast. As soon as that announcement was made I started looking at which Blu-Ray player I would purchase. And about a month ago I got it. It is really a beautiful picture. Not to be compared to standard definition DVD players at all. The menus have more to offer as well. Of course as soon as I got it my surround sound system died on me so *that* had to be replaced also. Isn’t that always the case? But it was worth it because the sound is so crystal clear on the newer receivers. Anyway, if you are thinking of going Blu-ray, I will recommend it highly.

I am very, very, very excited that finally on Tuesday the 3rd season of Battlestar Galactica will be out on DVD. This show is without a doubt in my mind the most brilliant show ever created. There is nothing lacking in the storytelling genius’ who created it. If you have never watched pick up the DVDs and the other 2 seasons are also out so be sure to pick them up too. This show is so plot driven and intricate you cannot just start watching without seeing the episodes  before it. Brilliantly smart, is a description I would use. And the first part of the final season, :( , will be airing in April.

I always find that the greatest test of someone’s worth is how they treat animals. If someone abuses the helplessness and trust that animals (particularly pets like dogs or cats) give us in any way then they cannot be that great of a person in every other part of life. If I see a man greet a dog with a smile and any affection then I automatically assume that he can’t be the worst person in the world. To abuse an innocent and loving being is probably the worst thing I can imagine. This judgement on my part may not always be a good indicator of someone’s worth but I have to say I have no been wrong before.

The best judge is probably the animal themselves though. I know anytime I come into contact with a dog they immediately run to me because they feel the trust and love I have for them. Pretty much all cats too. I think dogs are the best judge though because unlike cats they are totally dependent on you for companionship and to take care of them, much like very small children. They take a lot of their feelings from us. So when my dog vigorously hates someone I have to take into account that there must be something wrong with them. Don’t get me wrong, she barks at everyone she meets, that is her way. And she usually at first dislikes all males, but it’s the ones that she never calms down with that causes me to see a red flag. They know so much about instincts and feelings that as humans we have yet to learn.

Yesterday while I was walking my dog, running her actually as she hauls butt out of the front door with me following trying to keep a hold of her leash, I thought about another though not perfect test of human kindness. I have noticed that the people who see you near the sides of the roads with your pet on your walks will either acknowledge you by slowing down or acting prepared to slow down in case they have to. They usually smile at us or make some kind of contact. But the people who zoom past without a thought about an animal breaking free from their owner never smile or look at you, and apparently have no thought of what could happen. I know there are so many variables like being in rush for something but anytime I am on the road when I see an animal I always make myself prepared to stop just in case. This is just another example of people’s differences. It is interesting though not at all 100% accurate.
