The tests have not come back on poor Heath Ledger yet. It really is not my business how he died but it was so sudden and shocking that I am curious. It is hard to believe still he died. I was watching the “Dark Knight” trailer yesterday and just kept thinking about how different this movie will feel now that he is gone. I wonder if WB will be altering their marketing now that the Joker is passed away. I hope they don’t. This is likely his last full performance on film and I think that his kicka@@ portrayal should be advertised to the hilt. It is going to be a great movie and I just know that he will be brilliant. I am shocked and completely saddened by the sudden death of Heath Ledger. This is a guy who was so very talented, and would probably be a superstar after this summer’s “The Dark Knight” comes out. I have known people with addictions and I just hope this was not suicide. By all the news thus far it appears not, though. My thoughts go out to his family, his poor little girl growing up without a father, and all the people who knew him. We miss ya already Heath.

So I finally got to see “Cloverfield” last night. It was fantastic. Just a movie that keeps you holding your breath because it never stops once it gets going. I knew it would be good, how could it not be with these guys who created “Felicity” “Alias” & “Lost”. This story is very fast paced and thrilling. Every moment had me wondering what could possibly happen next. What I have to give them credit for is the well balanced story that is basically about these people and their fight for survival in a situation that is just unbelievably bad. You care about them because the writers very wisely spent time at the beginning of the movie showing you their lives, so that you care before the nightmare begins. It just works on so many levels. I never thought a movie like this could be so terrifying, but leave it to these guys to pull it off. Go see it, you will thoroughly enjoy it. Just don’t site to close for many reasons, but mostly because of the camera moving.

I briefly mentioned in a post earlier about the Justice League movie being “postponed” or possibly even scrapped altogether. As much as I wanted that movie to kick butt and for Tom Welling to be Superman in it, reading the supposed cast list on Superhero Hype really made kinda happy that this mediocre movie might never get made. Or moreover, with someone else at the helm. With an entirely new cast. Part of the reason I want “Smallville” to be over is that while sometimes the show shines the writers/producers never really allow anything to change. Clark is on occasion allowed to be a hero but most of the time they write him as a whiny obsessive guy who is in love with someone for no apparent reason. Well, they want us to believe he is in love with her, but honestly to me it seems like an infatuation that he is never allowed to grow out of. Personally, I don’t even want Clark to be in a relationship until he accepts his destiny to some degree. At this point, and for the last 7 years as he has been written, he would gladly give up his destined greatness for Lana. And that is just not a hero, not to mention the greatest hero ever. I just want to see Tom as Superman and for “Smallville” to end. It is past time for Clark to grow. the. heck. up.

January 31 Jack is back! Yes, finally a new, if shortened, season of Lost is coming. And from the sounds of the spoilers it will be terrific. I have to say that season 3 started off with a whimper. But by mid season the show was back to being brilliant. Seems like Season 4 will be just as shocking and thrilling.
