Of all the things in life, I believe that the simplest victories or accomplishments are the ones that resonate most in us as people. I maybe crazy but the smallest things make me so happy. For instance, tomorrow night I will be washing my hair in my shower. I always had a bathtub to use but I finally will have a shower hooked up tomorrow night. That makes me happy, I love the feeling of getting something done in the right way. I know, pathetic right? To care about something so simple is pretty sad, I agree. But it doesn’t stop me from looking forward to it.

There is only one thing in this whole world that is without a doubt the most fulfilling and perfect part of life. That would be the pure joy of having a dog. No matter what is going on, my little angel can make me happy. Even when I have to fuss at her, it makes me happy. I just do not get people who cannot love animals. They expect so little from us, and give us the enormous gift of eternal love. It is so irreplaceable. I never knew it was possible to love someone this much, but I find myself more in love my my Marci every single day. It is the best experience I will ever have.

SO Smallville was good Thursday night but I am afraid now that Lana is back we will get the same tired routine going again. I hope not. There will be so much else going on during the season, important plot stuff, that with any luck the Lanaville drama will be in the background. I love Tom Welling as Clark, but the writers really seem to tear his character down so he can stay obsessed with Lana. Who in my opinion has no likeable qualities at all. Go figure. I just wish that they would hire Welling for the Justice League movie and end the show in May. I know that quite a few members of the cast say that their contracts are up in May, so perhaps this would be the ideal time to call it quits. Of course the CW needs this show because the ratings continue to be up for new episodes. I am cautiously hopeful that this season Clark will keep up his Supermanly growth spurt shown in the first few eps. I just do not want another season of him pining for Lana and never going forward into his destiny. And for goodness sakes, why doesn’t he fly?

I know it is a huge long shot but I would truly love to see Welling in the Justice League movie. He is just so right, obviously, for the role. I doubt it will happen, but it is nice to dream.

God is no woman.

I hear women say that God must be a woman because we have kids. I could not disagree with that statement more. God is a male, no doubt about it. Women have so many annoying trials in life. There is the menstrual cycle; which obviously is nothing short of hell on earth. Then having kids; nothing fun about gaining all that weight and going through excruciating pain. NO thank you, never. What really ticks me off about all this is that I am in my 30’s and would LOVE to have an hysterectomy to never worry about female cancers and mostly because I would never have kids. But you cannot choose what you do with your body in this country the United States. How is that for freedom? My female parts will likely turn on me because I don’t like kids enough to ever have them, but I cannot prevent that by having a surgery to fix said problems.

Anyway, I sure wish to hell there would be an announcement about the cast for the new Justice League movie. I have heard a lot of rumors that Tom Welling (from "Smallville" ) was in strong contention for the role. That. would. be. amazing. And just because I said that they will hire some other guy to play Superman. I liked Brandon Routh in "Superman Returns" but I hear they are not wanting to use him in the JL movie so that the "Superman" movies can go on without any comparison to the JL films. Supposedly they will be in different timelines, etc., so we will see. I do have to say that no one in my opinion will ever be good enough to play Batman; after what Christian Bale has done for that role.

I love "South Park". It really is, in it’s own way a brilliant satire on society. And just about the funniest stuff I have ever seen. I wish I could tap into the minds of Parker and Stone. I can only imagine the laughs these guys get while coming up with another episode. I love that they leave no one alone, every race, religion, gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation, etc., is fair game to be made fun of. And so much of the time through the laughter I find myself heartily agreeing with their viewpoints. I think my favorite character is Mr(s) Garrison. And his former friend, Mr. Slave. Good stuff. But every character is great. From the crazy bus driver lady to Kyle Broflowski’s Canadian adopted brother Ike.

I find myself laughing at odd times of day, just thinking about what these guys come up with. Living in their mind must be a blast.

Smallville did it again..

Well Smallville managed to knock it out of the park again with tonight’s episode. I really enjoyed the new character of Kara. She and Clark’s relationship is going to be very interesting. I loved seeing Lois get into the Daily Planet. It is obviously on the ground floor but the foundation is set. I don’t know if this upswing will continue with Lana back, but besides Lex (who seems to have lost his balls) Lois & Clark are moving nicely into their legendary roles. I am still cautiously optimistic because Clark loses his drive with Lana around, but since the series is ending in the next year I am hopeful he is finally ready to realize why he and Lana will never work and move on towards being Superman. I will post more later.

10 reasons why my dog is perfect…

10. She is a beagle mix, therefore she never smells. Seriously, it is weird but she only needs a couple baths a year.

9. She is gorgeous. Especially when she is sleeping.

8. She knows when I am upset. and/or crying. And unlike humans, she never grows annoyed with being there for me.

7. She is so damn smart. We literally spell things out when we don’t want her to know what we are saying. Like, if we just mention taking a w-a-l-k in passing – not even directed at her – she goes to the door and looks at us. This happens with just about anything.

6. She has infinite trust in us.

5. She is so very protective of those she loves.

4. She is an angel with kids. This puppy even let a bad kid pull on her tail once without showing any aggression. She just ran to me to pick her up.

3. She lets us do whatever needs to be done with her without getting angry. Whether it is just taking medicine or bringing her to the veterinarian, she is so innocent about it all.

2. She loves gifts. There is nothing cuter than this baby when she knows it is her birthday or some holiday. We get her tons of things just because opening gifts makes her so very happy. On Christmas morning, we just have to ask her if Santa came to visit and she hauls it to the tree to see what she got. I am not kidding here. It’s beautiful.

1. For only weighing about twenty pounds, her heart is enormous. She literally gives so much happiness to those of us who know her we could never measure it all. If we are hurt or angry she makes it her mission to make us feel better. And just knowing her is a gift.

Bonus: This little being saved my life. She gave me a reason to get up every morning in a time when I didn’t think getting up would happen for me much longer. Her adoration and just needing me to be there gave me the will to survive. She is quite honestly my savior. I could never in a million years give her enough to show her just what she means to me. It is simply without measure.

I was watching "Heroes" tonight and I started to wonder if this show is just too good for television? With the inane programming that is on today – reality shows! mainly, I just find myself thinking that maybe the really good tv should just be made into a series of movies. Or maybe we need good television starring (behind and in front of the screen) actual talented people. Not some random idiot who is dying to be famous for doing absolutely nothing. It is a sad place when there are more crap reality programs than real entertainment. Personally, I would rather do almost anything than watch most of what is on tv. It is in my opinion partly responsible for the "dumbing" down of this country.

I hope that if this is a fad, that the fad ends sooner rather than later.

I hear they are making a "Justice League" movie. That has a lot of potential to be great, but just as much of a chance to suck. I hear they want to recast Batman and Superman for these movies. Honestly, NO ONE could be Batman for me but Christian Bale! I think they should just omit Batman from these films, provided there is more than one, until he could/would join in. I wouldn’t if I were him. Christopher Nolan is a genius and what he has done with Batman will be legendary in the years to come. As for Superman; I just do not think that we need 3 guys playing this character right now. We have "Smallville" with Tom Welling and the "Superman Returns" films with Brandon Routh. I think that Routh would probably stick with the set of Supes films he is already a part of. But since I am of the opinion that "Smallville" should end soon anyway, so why not get Welling? I would love to see him actually play Superman.
